About Knud

Knud Thorbjørn Hansen

Registered Psychotherapist · Supervisor · Teacher · Development Consultant

My work is built on a deep commitment to people's development – both individually and in communities.

I believe that all people have access to love and an inner source of vitality and wisdom.

Through HeartDialogue and its support, I see my role as helping re-establish contact with these.

I have an international background and orientation. I have a broad horizon and a certain maturity. I have now built a solid human and professional foundation – and experienced great love, deep sorrow, suffering, joys and turning points, all part of a life lived fully. – all of this I meet you with, from the heart.

My view of humanity and approach

My view of humanity is holistic and spiritually grounded. My approach is authentic and validating, integrative and creative, curious and gentle. I see symptoms as meaningful expressions of inner imbalance – not as faults to be corrected. Therapy is a process in which you have the opportunity to realise a deeply felt desire for change, growth and wholeness in your life.

What I value and appreciate in my work

  • › reflection and responsibility
  • › openness to process – also when answers do not come quickly
  • › respect for professional frameworks and relational ethics.

This creates a safe space where both people and professionalism can grow.

Registered Psychotherapist

FaDP logo

I am a registered psychotherapist entitled to use the protected title Registered Psychotherapist (REG. Psykoterapeut). The title is issued by FaDP – the Danish Association of Psychotherapists – which is approved by the Danish Patient Safety Authority to administer the registration scheme. The scheme is based in law and requires ongoing further training, supervision and personal therapy. FaDP – Foreningen af Danske Psykoterapeuter (about the registration scheme).

FaDP is a member of EAP – European Association for Psychotherapy. This is an organisational affiliation and is not the same as a Danish authorisation or an individual approval from EAP. (about EAP and FaDP).

I see compliance with FaDP's ethical rules as a fundamental prerequisite for my work. It creates transparency and supports good, sound treatment. Current and future clients must feel safe in my clinic: it is clear and transparent what my role is and what my clients give their consent to. I have previously served on FaDP's ethics council myself, and of course comply with the applicable professional ethical rules. This is also your guarantee that you will always receive a course of therapy in which my duty of confidentiality and other applicable guidelines are respected.

I receive supervision myself

I attend professional supervision and personal therapy myself. It is my assurance that you meet a Registered Psychotherapist and collaborator who works consciously and reflectively with his own inner life and his professionalism. In this way, together we can keep full focus on you and your challenges.
